We the undersigned, hereby submit this petition in support of the Theatre/Fine Arts Director since 1995, Randell Day and the Burnsville High School Fine Arts program.

We are not satisfied with the way the Fine Arts Program at Burnsville High School is being handled. More importantly, we are very upset with the level of regard that Randell Day appears to be held at by the District and the Board. Simply put, Randell Day is an irreplaceable mentor.

Every person listed on this petition has been touched in some way by Randell Day. Whether participating in his productions, attending his classes, accepting his guidance or simply receiving his friendship - all of us would not be the people we are today without him. His constant support for the talents of students and is everlasting love of the Arts is a valuable asset to Burnsville High School. Randell Day is not just an amazing person; he is one of the most knowledgeable teachers we have ever met. He is the creative and technical director for every presentation at Burnsville High School. He is a teacher of acting, stagecraft and construction. Most importantly he has given an open mind and a helping hand to thousands of students. Randell works countless hours of overtime and makes personal contributions to the school and the community that go unnoticed. We are aware of all of Randells efforts and appreciate every one of them. Now you are aware as well.

We hereby call upon School District 191 Administrative Employees and the Burnsville School Board Members to take this petition and resolution as a formal complaint on your actions thus far and demand that it be immediately taken into consideration. It is your responsibility, in times of budget cuts, to remain impartial and unbiased. We expect that the same effort you extend to other school programs like athletics, are extended to the Fine Arts. We request that you continue to employ and support Randell Day in his current position as Theatre/Fine Arts Director at Burnsville High School. Furthermore, we ask that you continue to serve the students and the community of Burnsville as proponents of the Fine Arts Program. We will not settle for the termination of Randell Day or any budget cuts made solely to the Fine Arts Programs while leaving other curricular programs untouched.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
