RE: Concerning the parking dilemma at IUCTT

We, the students of the Faculty of Multimedia of the International University of Technology Twintech, wish to express our displeasure on the subject of introducing payment scheme for parking under the university compound. We feel that the parking scheme should not be introduced due to a number of reasons. These reasons are:
We are students, not someone from a working environment. The budget that we have is enough to get us by from food expenses to room rental. If the management introduced this scheme, a lot of students will have to revise their already strained budget to accommodate this.
The RM 2.00 charge is extremely high for a limited parking space. 1 Utama Shopping Centre charges RM 1.00 on single entry but the parking bay is large and spacious. Even if we pay the parking fee at IUCTT, it is not guaranteed that we will get a parking space and this will waste our time and money.
A line will almost certainly be apparent if a parking fee is introduced due to the fact that the entrance is so near to the main road. A traffic jam will ensue and make the surrounding area more congested.
Even if we take the season ticket, it is not certain that a parking space will be made available to us. This is very inconvenient as we have paid so much for just a single parking space.
As the entry is RM 2.00 per entry, this will discourage us from leaving the compound to complete tasks or have a recreational activity outside such as eating or finishing our assignments.
It is not fair for us if your do not charge your employees upon parking. If you wish to introduce a payment scheme for parking, your employees who are earning their salary should also pay as well.
We all the reasons stated above, we hope the L & G management will reconsider their decision in introducing a payment scheme in the near future. We strongly believe that by introducing the payment scheme, it will cause great inconvenience to everyone, however distant they are connected to the IUCTT.
