BACKGROUND

On July 20, 1978 sixty-eight year old Avis Alford was brutally murdered and sodomized in her rural Coosa County Alabama Grocery. Seventeen year old Timothy Charles Davis was arrested, tried and convicted of capital murder. Davis spent twenty-six years on Alabamas death row.
