Real Country Music Radio for Dublin, Please.

The BCI (Broadcasting Commission of Ireland), having finally licensed a Country Music Radio Station for Dublin, continue to allow the fortunate entity who hold this licence to insist on avoiding country music at every opportunity and trying to have the word country removed from their name.

The problem with this is that people expecting to hear the Country they love tune in and are disappointed, while people who do not appreciate or enjoy country music never tune in the first place believing the radio station to have a music policy that does not appeal to them. The results of this are reflected in JNLR listenership figures which show the station to be weak.

The purpose of this petition is to try to show the radio station operators and the BCI that there is a demand in Dublin for a good quality country music radio station which sticks 100\% to proper country music. It has been shown in the past with various pirate radio stations who catered to the country music market that the Dublin radio market is crying out for a country station and that there is sufficient market share attainable from quality listeners who would fall into a demographic category which would appeal to advertisers.

We hereby call on the licence holders to respect the genre and scrap their current music policy in favour of a purely country format mixing New US Country, New Irish Country and lots of the "old favourites".
