Release a Complete "Elvis On Tour" DVD Collection

We, Elvis Presley fans, petition EPE and Turner/Warner for a complete and respectful re-release of the 1972 film "Elvis On Tour" on DVD with these suggestions:

- a 4-6 DVD set that includes:
-a remastered and upgraded treatment to the film as it is originally presented
-several comprehensive disks that include rehearsals and concerts that were filmed for the film:


Rehearsals that were held on March 30th and 31st
Footage from Buffalo, New York on April 5th (backstage and onstage)
A full concert that was filmed on April 9th in Hampton Roads, Virginia
Concert footage from Richmond, Virginia (April 10th)
Concert footage from Greensboro, North Carolina (April 14th)
Backstage footage from Little Rock, Arkansas (April 17th)
Concert footage from San Antonio, Texas (April 18th)
10 minute footage of an interview Elvis had done with the producers of the film

As you can see, the material available is abundant--too much to fit on simply 2 DVDs. The material here is Elvis Presley in fantastic form. The energy, electricity and force that Elvis brings to the screen are unmatched. Not only should this film be on DVD for historical purposes but also to continue unveiling Elvis personality and hidden side that the public unfortunately is not aware of. This task was started by the producers of Elvis Thats The Way It Is Special Edition, when fans finally got to see more NEW footage from concerts and rehearsals and saw a side of Elvis that we only heard through stories and accounts. To see itwas magic. For those 2 hoursall fans knew was that Elvis never died because he was right there on that screen and we were laughing, smiling and singing along with him.

The goal of this petition is for you, the owners of this film, to take advantage of the opportunity to make use of the treasure trove of the reported 33 hours of film you have of this film to create a collection that is by far the best range of Elvis Presley footage from backstage to onstage. The general public, thanks to re-releases of the 68 Comeback Special and the Aloha From Hawaii show, now know how important those 2 documents are to Elvis Presleys history.

Although, historically, those concerts are huge staples in Elvis career, Elvis On Tour has taken a backseat to both of them. Like a middle child being overshadowed by its younger and older brothers, Elvis On Tour needs to re-emerge from its isolation and rightfully so because the material in the film provides a peek into Elvis Presleys most important facet in his lifetouring around the country.

Elvis Presley was the first real rock star. He had money, houses, jewelry, bodyguards, girls screaming for him, planes and a life on the road. This film captures that wonderfully hectic, fast and unique life.
