REMOVAL OF DOUBLE YELLOW LINES

PETITION FOR REMOVAL OF UNNECESSARY DOUBLE YELLOW LINES
We are petioning to have obselete double yellow lines removed from outside our homes on Laneside Road, New Mills, High Peak, SK22 4AX.
The lines were put in place in 1970 as customers and staff of a dairy used to park vehicles there and this caused obstructions. This dairy has been closed for many years yet the lines remain in place. This means that we, as local residents cannot park outside our homes at any time. We have all received several fines for parking there. The nearest place we can park is 250 metres away on both sides of Low Leighton Road which has no parking restrictions. This will, in turn create single lane traffic, including HGV's buses, cars etc and will also cause severe delays and dispruptions, particularly at busy times of the day. We are pleading with the Council to have these double yellow lines removed for the benefit of the community. Please help us by signing this petition.
