Rename the park in Merrion Square after Oscar Wilde

This was in response to a public consultation process in April 2010. The vast majority of the 567 respondents to an advertisement placed by the Council were in favour of renaming the park, which is currently named "Archbishop Ryan Park".
---
However, people were also asked to suggest names for the park. The results were reported as follows, in the Irish Times of 7th May, 2010:
"Oscar Wilde is the clear favourite for a new name with 219 backing him. Brigit Park/Square/Gardens is backed by 113 who replied to the advert, the name Merrion Arts Garden is favoured by 98 and just reinstating the old name of Merrion Square was suggested by 45 people."
The Dublin South East committee has, apparently, decided to ignore the results of the second question of the consultation process, and recommend the option that was only favoured by 45 people, to the full Council meeting on 14th June 2010.
---
We call on Dublin City Council to acknowledge that the preferred choice of name for the park, by those who partook in the consultation process, was Oscar Wilde.
We call on the Council to respect the wishes expressed in that process, and name the park after Oscar Wilde.
