Renew Dark Angel for a Third Season

The science fiction community has always been widely considered an irrelevant minority in all forms of media. Television especially follows this trend. Therefore, those with tastes in science fiction are often given a very narrow selection to choose from, and often will be forced to settle for trite, ill-conceived plot-lines in order to satisfy their need for a fantastical story. Rarely, a precious gem appears among the wasteland, a story with a decent, ongoing plot; with characters that one grows attached to, or, when the plot dictates, characters one learns to despise; with a premise grounded in the infinite realm of possibility, but with enough in common with our own lives to draw us to it; in short, a series with a soul. Fox's Dark Angel is a shining example of this caliber of science fiction programming. Alas, the network, as networks have done since the inception of science fiction programming, is opting to discontinue the programming that caters to a seemingly small population, most likely to acquire some program of lower quality and higher mainstream popularity. What I ask in this petition is not only for the connoisseurs of science-fiction to band together as a community to have their voice assure Fox that the "small market" concept of this genre is an illusion, but I also appeal to those who have ever seen a good show, a show that they held dear to them, a television program that entertained them on a level that they didn't expect -- to these I appeal, support us as viewers, and let Fox know that we desire, more than they estimated, to see a third season of Dark Angel.
