We the citizens of this country, vehemently oppose the draconian Section 66 A of the Information Technology Act, 2008.
It's a draconian act, which challenges our basic right - The Right to Freedom of Speech.
It's often said," When we talk about RIGHTS, we should also remember our duties too. Point taken, but who shall but who shall put the bell on the CAT?
The CAT has turned to herds of power hungry wolves and has shaken up the very roots of Democracy. Just come to think of it, the LUST with which they (The Politicians) are robbing the exchequer - A nation called India.
Look at the recent cases of the common man affected by this act, be it Professor Ambikesh Mahapatra of Jadavpur University or Aseem Trivedi of IAC or S. Ravi an Industrialist from Puducherry and now two girls Shaheen Dhada and Renu from a Mumbai Suburb were arrested over their post about Mumbai Shutdown after Bal Thackeray's demise on Social Networking site. By the way they are just 21 Years old. Is this how we treat citizens of this country, who have an opinion of their own and are using their Right to Freedom of Speech?
It's not only this act but there are more such acts which are not only anarchist but also reveal the uncivility which has engulfed law enforcing authorities and politicians alike.
If we, as common man of India are not going to make them aware of their misdeeds then who shall?
It's time we all gather courage and stand against this draconian Section 66 A of the Information Technology Act, 2008 and appeal the Honorable President of India, Honorable Supreme Court of India and the Government of India to repeal Section 66 A of the Information Technology Act, 2008
