We have seen from the FEI Reining World Cup Finals in Sweden a v ideo recorded by Epona TV that a particular rider repeatedly jabbing his horse in the mouth as well as demonstration other questionabvle riding techniques such as heavy use of sharp spurs, wall stops and hyperflexion.
Within the FEI General Regulations there is article 142- Abuse of Horses; within this at least one of the actions repeated in the viedeos is listed (to see the relevant penalty for this go to page page 49 and see article 169).
A statement from the FEI has said the following: http://twww.fei.org/Reining/FEI-World-Reining-Final/bokebergs so it would seem they are not aware of their own regulations and are either unable or unwilling to uphold them.
This petition requests that the FEI uses its own regulations to effect so that horses can be protected. This is not an attack on an individual rider or sport.
