Resignation of Congressman Spencer Bachus

This petition is intended to call for Senator Spencer Bachus's resignation of his post as US Congressman from Alabama. Mr. Bachus is completely oblivious to the First Amendment of the US Constitution, which states specifically:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Though Mr. Bachus has YET to draw up a law prohibiting the First Amendment, he is clearly violating Mr. Bill Maher's First Amendment rights. Mr. Bachus needs to be taught that just because he does not agree with another citizen's opinion, this opinion does not constitute treason. If we do not stop Mr. Bachus now, where will he stop?

Mr. Bachus, it is time to resign your post to another freedom loving American. You have made it abundantly clear that you are a fascist, and do not belong in the leadership commitee(s) of the United States of America. It is time to step down.
