Petition to Retire Rock Domans #44
Rock Doman was an outstanding young man and football player! Rocky lost his life on December 3, 2007, in a gas well explosion at only 26 yrs old! He worked hard to be the best player! Rocky is the only player from Carmichaels School District to win a WPIAL individual award and the only person to win the Tri County South MVP Award! He was presented with the following awards after playing only three seasons in high school: WPIAL 4,000 yard leading rusher (he is 1 of only 4 from Greene Co. to pass this mark) Total yards were 4,145 from 1996 to 1999; Andrew Stockey WPXI Action News Player of the Week; Carmichaels Lions Club MVP Award. Rock went on to play for Waynesburg College but was forced to stop playing due to health conditions from numerous concussions.
Rocky will never be forgotten in our hearts. The youth of Carmichaels need to know that when you work hard, you are Remembered!!! Rocky inspired many youth in the Carmichaels H.S. Gym even after he graduated, to the day he passed away!! The Greene Co. Messenger, the Herald-Standard and the Observer-Reporter have not forgotten him, they are still writing about him!! I think that it is only right to retire Rocky's number in consideration of his family and all the sacrifices that they have made over the years, not to mention the money that Rocky brought into the school.
