This is the official petition to Clear Channel communications to return rock radio to the airwaves in Houston, TX.
Recently, Clear Channel changed the format of local legend rock radio station KLOL (101.1 FM). KLOL was the oldest rock station in the state of Texas having been on the air playing rock music for over 30 years.
With rock music radio there are three major demographics: classic rock, alternative rock, and modern or "real" rock. The last demographic is the bridge between the first two. It mixes some of the playlist from the other two while also adding in some of the so called "harder" rock music which doesn't fit into the other two demographics.
After witnessing the dismissal of this demographic by Clear Channel in other cities, they are again dismissing it in Houston, TX. We the undersigned hereby submit this petition to Clear Channel to make them aware of just how large this demographic is and to request the restoration of KLOL to its previous format.

Clear Channel a Corp has No loyalty to the US or our Traditions They only want Capital Gains. Whats more UnAmerican than removing a RockNRoll station and Replase it W/ a Spanish? In a way it is a form of terrorism.

I'm glad I live in St. Louis, where our rock station is owned by Emmis Communications. K-She 95 has been our rock station since 1967, and has adapted with the changing times. They do better than all of the CC stations in STL combined!

This is an outrage... we have enough Spanish speaking stations... this is America, our national language is English. KLOL was the only station that played everything from the Beatles to Metallica to Nirvana.

I can not believe this happened. My mornings will NEVER be the same, I have been a faithful listener for YEARS. Everything else on the radio in Houston is crap. I am truly saddened by this loss.
