Revision of Course PHAS2201: Electricity and Magnetism

The undersigned are currently studying PHAS2201: Electricity and Magnetism, lead by Mario Campanelli. We the undersigned appreciate how much work goes into producing a course program, however we strongly feel the aforementioned is not teaching the course adequately. Currently we are struggling with problem sheets and the course is essentially being self taught, which is not what the lecture programme should be about.

Currently Mario copies examples from directly from the textbook which everyone has purchased who is on the course. We feel that the lecture programme should support our self taught knowledge and explain difficulties we face when learning. However this is not the case.

We the undersigned are petitioning for:
> Course aims to be well explained. Currently it is unknown what topics we will be examined on. These aims were not made clear at the beginning.

> Detailed explanation of key concepts. Currently examples are directly copied from the Jewett and Serway textbook without hesitation. When asked a question an indirect answer is given, again referring to the book.

> Revision of difficulty of Problem Sheets. Currently they are too difficult and it is felt they should teach key concepts rather than a task to brute force answers. The aim of a course is to learn, not

Although it is ~week 14 and there is little time left for this semester the undersigned feel it is never too late for change and opinions of current students should be put into consideration for the future.
