Right to Live - Free Medicines for the HIV/AIDS Patients

Grace is born in Kolar Gold Field (India) in 2003 with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) because the mother was infected due to poverty and sexabuse. This child grows into death because the mother cannot afford to any HIV/AIDs medicines for herself or for her daughter. They wait for each other's death soon. The medicines are available in the market for high prices. In many countries diagnosis is free to some extent as there is a publicity and monetary support available for such projects internationally.











If these people have right to live they need to be given the medicines such as nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NARTIs or NRTIs) plus either a protease inhibitor or a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). We support the cause of the infected people in their struggles for getting the medicine for controlling the AIDS in their bodies.





We strongly believe and endorse the fact that the infected people have a right to live in this world like others. We strongly advocate their cause in getting the treatment and medicine in an affordable cost or free of cost. We wish that those recent claims and tests of curing the HIV/AIDS patients come true soon.











We wanted these medicines to be removed from the list of Intellectual Property Rights and allow the governments and companies to produce them in large quantity that will enable the infected people to get them at free of cost or at least at a cheap cost. The innocent children and young people are affected and infected may survive longer in their lives by taking such medicines.











We approach your Institutions to pass a resolution or add amendments to appropriate International agreements in favour of making the available medicines free for those who are infected by this virus. List those medicines as life-saving medicines and those companies that produce them can be supported by International bodies such as UN and WTO as mandatory to all nations and as part of right to life particularly for the children below 16 years old.











We recommend this petition to be heard, considered and taken forward by the member nations and implement these principles by reproducing the medicines for the treatment of the HIV/AIDS patients. We the undersigned will commit ourselves in every possible ways to promote awareness and advocacy for the infected and affected people around the world.
