SAG Member Performance in Non-Union Work

We submit that SAG members should be permitted to take on any project regardless of its signatory status with the union. We hold, that affiliation with The Screen Actors Guild does not provide enough work for its struggling actors to turn down any job. We are not in the business of acting to be working solely as extras and feel strongly that we should not lose the ability to perform speaking roles or other career furthering endeavors outside of the union. Furthermore, we think it unfair to have to pay any compensation to SAG or any union, in order to partake in or create such endeavors. We respectfully request that this rule be changed so that Guild members may receive more work.
