Save our Hornepayne Town Centre

It has come to our attention that as of September 30th 2010 the HORNEPAYNE TOWN CENTRE facility will close and all of the businesses such as the town's only Hotel, Swimming pool, Post office, LCBO, Library as well as a retail store, a restaurant , weight training facility, Health Unit, Dentist office and 37 apartments will close along with it.

When the PROVINCE built this Centre in cooperation with CN and funding from the FEDERAL government, it took all of those amenities and put them all under one roof in the HORNEPAYNE TOWN CENTRE. When it closes we will have nothing.

The PROVINCE has also since moved 2 of the most important leasers out of the Facility, namely the Ontario Provincial Police and the Hornepayne High School (which will move into their new building once its completed).

WE the people of HORNEPAYNE Ontario and WE the people that care about the survival of the HORNEPAYNE TOWN CENTRE are respectfully requesting that the Province of Ontario do re-instate the funding that had been provided up to now for the costs of the TOWNSHIP OF HORNEPAYNEs portion of the Centre. Without the township leasing the pool, dentist office , Health unit, Library etc, it makes it difficult for a potential buyer to see the business being successful. Without a buyer WE lose all hope of having our Centre remain open.
