Susan Schein Chevrolet has been designated as one of the dealers General Motors plans to close in October 2010. While we will certainly continue sales and service of all makes and models, we do not want to lose our new Chevrolet business.

It is therefore with a great sense of urgency that I ask you for your help to stop General Motors from closing Susan Schein Chevrolet. Please show your support by signing our petition, or writing or emailing Susan Schein Chevrolet at PO Box 215 Pelham, AL 35124 or [email protected] Here are the facts:

Susan Schein has a proven track record as a successful business person. She provides an enormous boost to the local economy and community and represents the epitome of the quest for the American Dream.

She is the largest female-owned GM Dealer in the state of Alabama. There are only two female GM dealers in the entire state. She is consistently ranked as the 4th-5th largest female-owned business in the state. Each year, she is recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of the top 100 Most Influential Business leaders in the state.

She has 25 years experience in the car business and 17 years as the sole owner of Susan Schein Chevrolet. She purchased the store from her father, Bill Strickland, upon his death in 1992. Her family has owned this Chevy store 35 years in Shelby County.

She has consistently ranked in the top 15-20\% in sales out of 78 dealers. In April 2009 she was ranked #1, and in May of 2009 she was ranked #2 in the Birmingham district.

Her facility is excellent, her location is outstanding. She is located in the fastest growing county in Alabama. Three of the adjacent towns were recently ranked in the top-100 best cities in the Unites States to live. The dealership provides a significant tax base to the city, county, and state. The dealership is also a major contributor to numerous schools and charities.

Perhaps most of all she provides outstanding service to her customers. People know it is a place they can trust. Her employees are dedicated to the standards of service that result in repeat customers. There is no true measure of success.

Please ask GM to reconsider their decision to close such a viable location. Our community needs Susan Schein Chevrolet.

I can not thank you enough for supporting Susan Schein Chevrolet during this difficult time for my dealership and our employees.
