Here is the website showing footage of the Baylor students jumping around on the cages http://www.sharkonline.org/index.php?&page=0000000039 In the link for Baylor's Long Cruel History, they depict all the horrible ways bears and other animals have died or been mistreated at the hands of Baylor staff.

These bears need to be released to a proper sanctuary of facility and no longer be used here as mascots. SinceBaylor is a private university, it is hard to get them to do anything since they rely on other sponsors for money instead of just government grants, but if more people and organizations are made aware of this, they might relent. Under "Take Action," all these people who could have influence to end sponsorship are on the Baylor Board of Regents.

Below are some of the ways of taking action:

TAKE ACTION Against Baylor Bear Abuse Sign our Petition to have the bears sent to a happier home, and have Baylor use costumed mascots like the rest of the world!

Pepper to Teddy - a regular
occurrence during the 1972
football season."

Baylor University is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT). BGCT Executive Director Charles Wade needs to hear from you about the Baylor Bear issue. Please write him a respectful letter or E-mail asking him to investigate, and to compel Baylor to do the right thing. Please let us know of any response you may receive.

The Dr. Pepper / 7UP Bottling Group of Dallas is a longtime sponsor of Baylor. It's time this company help Baylor's bears. Please contact President Jim Turner and ask him to use his influence to get Baylor to release the bears to a proper sanctuary, and if need be, to end his company's sponsorship of the university until the bears get relief. Mr. Turner is also on the Baylor Board of Regents.
