Save the heart of Forest Gate from "regeneration"

We the undersigned deplore the current plans to demolish Victorian and Edwardian buildings in the heart of Forest Gate and replace them with high rise buildings up to 20 storeys in height. Forest Gate has already lost many beautiful buildings to wartime bombing and more recently to redevelopment.
We ask that Newham Council:
1. Refuse permission to demolish any more Victorian or Edwardian buildings in Forest Gate.
2. Refuse permission to build any buildings greater in height than current Victorian and Edwardian buildings.
3. Only grant permission for development that fully respects the conservation and restoration of the Victorian urban village feel that was part of the previous core strategy for Forest Gate.
