This petition is intended to help save dolphins in Japan. In the documentary The Cove, it showed how the Japanese grouped dolphins into a cove of water and sold the female Bottlenose dolphins to water parks. Then all of the unwanted dolphins are taken to another cove that nobody can see. The fishermen stab them with a spear that leaves blood pouring out of the dolphins while they are still alive. Over twenty thousand dolphins are killed every year. When I get one thousand signatures, I will send them to John V. Roos, U.S. Ambassador to Japan, and ask him to file a protest with the Japanese government. The IWC (International Whaling Commission) has tried to stop the killing but the Japanese have bribed small countries to vote with them to continue the slaughter of the dolphins. Also, the unwanted meat, which contains extremely high levels of mercury, a deadly poison, is given to schools in the surrounding area in Japan for their lunch programs.
