Scotland's Neurological Units to Merge

As detailed in the Evening Express (Aberdeen) on Saturday 29th October 2005, Health Minister Andy Kerr has confirmed that Scotland's four neurological units are to merge (final site location has yet to be determined).

A top neurosurgeon, David Currie, has warned that people will die if people with brain injuries or trauma are forced to travel.

The unit within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary treats patients as far a field as the Orkney and Shetland islands.

We feel so strongly regarding this matter that we will be running a paper petition also within Aberdeen and have full intentions in approaching all local MP's and the Scottish Health Executive.

Your support is greatly appreciated, please sign this petition and we will focus all our efforts in keeping the Aberdeen unit from merging with others.
