As a student/ filmmaker/ film enthusiast/ member of the San Francisco community with an interest in film:
I would like to encourage the Academy of Art University to invite filmmaker Shane Carruth to visit the Academy as a guest speaker. The purpose of Mr. Carruth's visit would be to address interested parties in an open forum discussion and answer questions about his debut film feature "Primer" - the 2004 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Award winner.
In sharing the experience of making "Primer", I believe that Mr. Carruth can & will enhance my understanding of the process behind making a successful independent feature film in an invaluable way.
