SoundDiver Integration with Logic Pro

We, the undersigned, wish to file a formal feature request for your award-winning music creation software, Logic Pro. In an effort to emphasize the importance of this addition, we implore you to consider our situation.

We represent a large number of Logic Pro 7 users that utilize a full palette of tools and instruments to assist us in our music production. At this current stage of music technology, a great number of these options exist in the software domain. Unfortunately, many of these instruments are available only as hardware units. While not as convenient as software instruments and effects units, many of us have come to the conclusion that these units simply cannot be replaced by software. At one time, there was a program called SoundDiver that Emagic, Inc. had developed to manage our hardware necessities. It was this perfect marriage of software and hardware that made Logic the ultimate audio program for both professionals and hobbyists.

With the merger of Apple and Emagic, this program appears to have been discontinued. Though many of us have tried to cope without it, still it presents difficulties when we attempt to utilize our hardware to the extent of their abilities. It is this reason that we are requesting that Apple integrate Sounddiver functionality into future versions of Logic Pro. Preferably, we would like SoundDiver to be included with Logic Pro as a bundle application similar to Waveburner or Apple Loop Utility. Otherwise, it would be acceptable to at least offer it as a separate program or upgrade that we may purchase.

Logic has always had some of the most impressive MIDI features of any sequencer available. To deny this usage of its powerful midi manipulation and routing capabilities would be to deny its very nature: flexibility. This flexibility allows anyone (from novice to expert) to make Logic as simple or deep as they wish.

Please keep in mind that we are all current users of Logic Pro and we will continue to financially support it as long as it meets our music production needs. And for all of us, SoundDiver is one of those needs.
