Stonehill Shuttle Reform

We, the students of Stonehill College, have been very displeased with the service of our campus shuttle. We find that the shuttle's times are inconvenient, unreliable, and sparse. Given the suburban location of Stonehill's campus, it is expected that there is adequate transportation service to and from the campus. Students should have the option to come and go from the campus on the weekends without having to allot an excessive amount of hours for their travels. A travel time of about 100 minutes to get from Stonehill College to Boston Common in Boston, MA is not acceptable. Student travels must be meticulously timed in order to avoid waiting upwards of 90 minutes for the next shuttle. We believe that students should be able to travel to Boston in a reasonable amount of time. In order to accomplish this, we propose that there be a separate shuttle for the Quincy Adams T Station and the South Shore Plaza, given their relatively close proximity to one another. This shuttle should run more frequently in order to better serve the needs of Stonehill Students. It does not seem sensible to have the Randolph Cinema and Westgate Mall on the same shuttle route as the South Shore Plaza and the T Station, because they are so far away from each other.
If there were to be two shuttle routes with more frequent times, it would achieve two things: cut down the number of passengers on the already overcrowded shuttle, and enable more efficient transportation. For example, the shuttle times for the Randolph Cinema route could be altered to coincide with movie times, thus eliminating the need for students to waste a great deal of time waiting for transportation at the movie theater. As it is now, if one were to take the shuttle from Boland Hall at 2:50 PM, they would arrive at the Westgate Mall at 3:10 PM. The next time a shuttle comes to pick up at the Westgate Mall is not until 5:45 PM, and then arrives back at Boland Hall at 7:00 PM. 1 hour and 35 minutes of traveling time for something that should take 15 minutes each way is unacceptable.
Given the aforementioned facts, we propose that Stonehill provide two separate shuttle routes, one of which stops at the South Shore Plaza and Quincy Adams T Station, and the other of which makes stops at the Westgate Mall and the Randolph Cinema. Additionally, the shuttles should be more frequent and begin earlier in the day than the present start time of 12:00 PM.
