Dear Mr. President,
More than 27 Kurdish soldiers died while serving their time in the
Syrian Army in the past five years. All these cases have in common
the fact that they took place under circumstances that have remained
unexplained to this day.
Unfortunately, neither effective investigations nor post-mortem
examinations were conducted after the deaths of these soldiers.
Instead, the military authorities explained most of these cases by
accident or suicide.
Mr. President, I urge you to ensure that efficient investigations
take place concerning these cases so the families of the fallen
soldiers have a chance to find out how and why their sons and
brothers died.
