As you all know currently a Booth Memorial High School there is an electronics ban in place. They say mp3 players or iPods are disrupting the teachers and the students around them. Unless the volume was high it isn't disturbing anyone. Science proves that listening to music can help one concentrate. I completely agree with the fact that you can't listen to music while the teacher is talking, I'm not arguing that, but when youre doing work why not? If someone fails to listen to the rules of loud music and not listening while the teacher is talking then it is them who should be punished. Without music alot more people are getting in trouble for talking. With music one will actually do their work and concentrate on it. Talking is actually disturbing to others because they can hear it but with music at a descent level only the one person can hear it. Sure teachers and parents agree with this policy, but there not the ones trying to learn, we are and music helps us. Booth Memorial is apparently committed to excellence. What happened to that?
