Dear Blizzard,
This is a petition to install a 3-second hostile timer after taking a Waypoint or a Town Portal (or any kind of portal) back to town. Currently, because the hostile button can be pressed immedeately after exiting the town portal or the waypoint, it is possible to cast "Blizzard", go to town, press hostile and people will suffer from the full effect of that "Blizzard". This process has been automated with scripts, and almost every single variant has been experimented with (Blizzard, Meteor, Ice Blast, Guided Arrows, etcetera, etcetera). Whilst not much of a problem in Softcore this is a major annoyance in Hardcore and very detrimental to playing co-operatively on battlenet in any open game. As a result, the number of Nightmare and Hell games without a password have dropped to practically zero, and co-op play with strangers in order to make and meet new friends is impossible.
We, as a Hardcore Community, would therefore like to ask you to stop this quite frankly very annoying abuse of game mechanics once and for all. In the past "Blessed Hammer" and "Hydras" have been fixed on an individual basis, but instead of fixing every single spell it might be easier (note the *might*, we do not know, really) to add a 3(or 5)-second-no-hostile-timer after exiting a TP or WP in town. That way it is simply impossible to affect people with spells currently in play.
