Stop Wasting the Time of People who Matter.

The proposal I bring to you today is a simple one. I ask for you to join me in getting this website shut down. I have read several of the petitions on this website and I've come to a conclusion. No-one cares what you think, no matter how many of you sign a petition. Do you honestly think that someone is going to do or stop doing something just because you wave a couple of signatures under their noses? There is only one instance in which it might work and that shall be explained later. In all other cases they will not give a damn.

To use political terms a petition is defined as a form of direct action protest. Now I'm going to let you in on a secret. Direct action may attract attention, maybe even from the media, but by the end of the day something more interesting will come up and you'll be forgotten and nothing will change. Do you care to see an example? I can't name one because I don't remember any and I challenge you to name five examples. As far as protests go again no-one cares. In 2003 one million people took to the streets of London, the equivalent of about a seventh of the city's population, in a bid to convince the government not to go to war with Iraq. And look where it got them. The government ignored them and went to war anyway. The protest didn't stop them because they didn't care what those idiotic demonstrators thought.

Now, to go back to what I said before, there is one instance where a petition may work and that is right before you. I am not a world leader who knows about virtually everything that every peasant in his country does like Vladimir Putin nor am I the Lord High Chancellor of the Internet known only to a privileged few as the Lord so I don't have the power to bring this site to its knees alone. The only way I have is to use a petition. Think about it. The wonderful irony is the people who run this site will most likely bow to the pressure put on them by a couple of signatures. By sending them this petition we will apply our will. By signing this you will make the world a happier place. A world where the government can do its job without being bothered by its people. This is just the first step.

And to the people who run this site I have only this to say. Remove this if you want. You'll just prove you are hypocrites and that deep down you believe in my principles so you'll shut yourselves down anyway. Either way you must bow down to this petition which will be your last.
