Yet, it appears that its original intent is currently being threatened by the way some of its admins, who abuse the set regulations to delete articles that does not personally interest them, not even regarding the fact that the article could be a notable addition to the encyclopedia.
A few examples of the incompetence of some of its active members:
1. An article about a notable Star Trek roleplay game gets deleted because "they hadn't heard from it, neither had their friends". Another, very similar article about another Star Trek roleplay game, on the other hand, does not get deleted.
2. Admins or Moderators are clearly offensive in their behaviour toward articles that they choose not to like personally. They outright and openly call it "trash on the server".
3. When a vote is open for deletion, the admins/moderators attempt to discredit anyone who does not vote their side, by bringing up arguments about how the opposite voters have "contributed little otherwise". When the same person votes the same as the admin/moderator, no such comment is made.
4. Perfectly acceptable articles are nominated for deletion. When the deletion policy regulations are checked upon, it often turns out that none of the regulations give justice for this deletion. Yet they manage to get it deleted. When the regulations are pointed out to them, they have indeed no compelling argument to counter with, but instead avoid it by attempting to get it deleted by discrediting it in other ways.
5. Articles are usually rapidly deleted when you are not checking on it for a few days. An article is not nominated for deletion one day, and two days later it is suddenly gone.
The examples above clearly show how the people nominating articles for deletion, are being utterly subjective rather than obtaining the objectivity such an encyclopedia requires. Additionally, they do not respect the regulations set forth by Wikipedia, but instead bend and mutilate them to their own personal intentions, with no regard or respect for the one who contributed the article, or for Wikipedia itself. Possible reasons for this unprofessional behavior may be power trip or an attempt for censorship based on personal opinions.
When all this happened to only one person attempting to contribute to Wikipedia, so it undoubtedly has happened to others. If this continues, Wikipedia may soon lose its popularity and become a low quality encyclopedia.
