We, the undersigned, understand the two alternatives (1E and 2E) being studied by the New York State Department of Transportation in the Bruckner-Sheridan Interchange Environmental Impact Study. We endorse alternative 1E, which decommissions the Sheridan Expressway, because it will not only provide direct truck access to the Hunts Point peninsula, but it will also open up 28 acres of land for much-needed affordable housing, businesses, and open space for the South Bronx, as envisioned in the Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance's New Community on the Sheridan Plan.
