Im signing the petition to show my support of Scot Dutcher, Chief of the Colorado Department of Agriculture Animal Protection Bureau.
Many of the tweets sent by Mr. Dutcher express sentiment against radical animal rights groups that seek to elevate animals to the same level as humans and erode our rights as animal owners/farmers/breeders.
Mr. Dutcher has tweeted that further regulation of puppy mills is unnecessary because the regulations will not hinder those who are not licensed in the first place. He has tweeted about how HSUS was involved in the illegal raid of a South Dakota breeder. He has also tweeted about the fact that since horse slaughter has been made illegal in the US, many horses are being sent to slaughter mills outside the US which may or may not be as humane in dispatching the horses as the US was.
It appears that Mr. Dutcher takes his job very seriously and in voicing his opinion of their practices, has invoked the wrath of the HSUS in the process.
We cannot ask for more from a government employee who is charged of the Bureau of Animal Protection. It is time for Mr. Dutcher to be applauded for standing up for his beliefs.
