This petition is on behalf of Tarun Naicker's loving parents & brother, family & countless friends. Currently there are two memorial crosses that mark the site along Auckland Motorway were Tarun Naicker passed away at the age of 20 on 23rd April 2010.
New Zealand Transport Association (NZTA) has suggested the memorial crosses currently pose safety concerns therefore they wish to remove both memorial crosses:
Only one plain cross will be allowed - it will be moved behind the trees out of sight of passing motorists
NZTA have also offered a few other memorial options in place of the two crosses to Tarun's family however Tarun's family do not wish to opt for any of them. They would like Tarun's Memorial Crosses to remain untouched- as is.
We wish to peacefully protest the above decision of NZTA through the form of this petition & request them to leave Tarun's Memorial Crosses as is- PLEASE SIGN IF YOU WISH TO SUPPORT US IN THIS CAUSE-IF YOU WOULD LIKE TARUN NAICKER'S MEMORIAL CROSSES TO REMAIN UNTOUCHED.
Whilst we wish to peacefully oppose the above option/decision of NZTA- we do respect NZTA's safety concerns for all members of public. We therefore REQUEST ALL TARUN SUPPORTERS & LOVED ONES TO REFRAIN FROM VISITING TARUN'S MEMORIAL CROSSES ON AKL MOTORWAY. Please do not slow down unnecessarily, pull over or get out of your vehicles to visit Tarun's Memorial Cross along the motorway. It is illegal to stop on the motorway or on it's shoulders except in case of emergency as well as illegal to walk within the Motorway designation. Should any attempt to gain access to Tarun's Memorial Crosses be observed by authorities - they will reserve the right to remove Tarun's Memorial Cross! Not forgetting- you are also placing yourself & others in line of significant danger. Any harm caused as a result of the above will be devastating for us- for everyone. Tarun would never want to see anyone hurt.
So if you wish to support us in this cause to preserve Tarun's Memorial Crosses as is & for the sake of your safety and others- please do not engage in any behaviour that will potentially cause harm to you, others as well as harm chances of Tarun's Memorial Crosses being left untouched. Tarun's Memorial at Manukau Gardens-Puhinui is open to all who wish to safely visit him and pay their respects.
We appreciate everyone's ongoing support in helping to keep Tarun's memories alive. Rest In Peace Tarun...T-MAN xx
