The Initiative: Lower NYC Subway and Bus Fares

This e-petition is a counterpart to the actual physical petition that is circulating on the streets of New York right now. The overall petition is a response to the lack of response that we have gotten from the many entities and individuals that we have contacted in business, politics, and entertainment. The issue (and Petition) at hand is The Initiative: Lower NYC Subway and Bus Fares. (On July 14th, 2009, we received an email reply from an MTA official saying how his original comments still stand and how our idea is not original.)
You go read the Subway Initiative Outline at: http://www.hiphopdx.com/blogs/2009/04/the-continuation-of-the-art-3/ like I asked him to do. Where is this idea worse than riders having to pay more?
In order to lower Subway and Bus fares in New York (with other cities to follow soon), we conceived the idea to subsidize rising costs by entering into Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) logo licensing deals with assorted clothiers through selected retail outlets. The logos used with certain the train numbers and letter insignias on assorted clothing items. This revenue will go back to the MTA and balance the lower fare that the trains will be immediately reduced to.
While we expect the proper replies from government and business, we are taking this issue to the streets so that the individuals that actually ride the subways and buses can have their voices heard. Once signed and verified, these signatures will be presented to the same entities (i.e. The Metropolitan Transit Authority) that we had contacted when we first conceived this initiative.
