The Need for More Wheelchair Accessibility in Philadelphia
Sign Now
On the 19th of October, I am starting to petition for more wheelchair accessibility in the city of Philadelphia. I and many others realize that work has been done, yet more needs to be completed. This problem can no longer be placed on the back burner and has to be resolved.
According to the US Census Bureau, there are over two million wheelchair users in the US. It is hard enough for the handicapped to live in wheelchairs let alone get around. There has to be more accessibility for wheelchairs in Philadelphia.
What is mandatory for change now is curb cuts; all schools in Philadelphia should be accessible; all government, federal, and city facilities be accessible; wheelchair accessible voting polls; and any other place that serves over 150 customers a day be accessible.
It is time for change and to better our society by helping those who are disabled. By helping this cause, you are giving back to the disabled!
Sincerely,
Gail E. Walsh
