The Threepenny Opera Revival Recording

Dear Roundabout,
Your 40th season's revived production of Brecht and Weill's The Threepenny Opera is one of those shows in theatre history that will be remembered as an innovative spectacle. With an all star cast, stark and oppressive staging, sexy, kitschy costumes, and a dark brash new translation Threepenny has been winning audiences since it opened in April. Though when it faced critics it got almost unanimous bad reviews and overall the Broadway community didn't seem to understand it. But it still won over people who went to experience it at Studio 54. Extending it's run an extra week and garnering two Tony nominations (along with winning Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards) was hope for fans that a much longed for cast recording was in the future. After getting shut out at the Tony's and receiving a reply from your Webmaster about the doubtfulness of a recording I decided to create this petition.
Please think it over. I know my friends, myself and the people who sign this petition will be very thankful if a cast recording is made. Yes the show isn't selling out like Wicked and isn't critically lauded like Drowsy Chaperone, but think of all the other musicals that weren't initially received warmly but found their audience on record. Mack & Mable and even Chicago to name a few...
