First let us all be very clear about it that, we think, the development of our state and the future of our unemployed youth depends on the agricultural growth and industrialization. There may be ongoing debates on its form, direction and planning; but it has to be sorted out across the table.
We think that 14.03.2007 is a shameful day in the history of West Bengal.
We think that on 14.03.2007, the violence in Nandigram by the authorities and miscreants has left all the sensitive people of West Bengal terrified and humiliated. We deeply mourn for all those who are dead and we wish fast recovery of all who are injured.
We are more terrified because, capitalizing on this incident, various reactionary forces is forming an alliance in West Bengal keeping in view of their vested interests.
Our Demands:-
1. Identification and notable punishment of the Police and the armed force responsible for this incident.
2. Identification and remarkable reprimand of all the people spreading rumours in the name of political movement across the villages of West Bengal, bursting offices of a particular political party into flames and making the families of its workers and supporters leave their houses.
3. In regard to this issue, the words of Mr. Binoy Kongar, Mrs. Mahashweta Devi and Janab Kabir Suman better be restrained and civilized.
4. All the important decisions of the Left-Front Government would be truly political, democratic and humanitarian instead of being merely administrative.
Let there be peaceful discussions and debates instead of everlasting confrontation and agitation. It is our earnest request to all the sensitive people of West Bengal; let us come together in protest against both the state-sponsored terrorism and opponents organized anarchic terrorism.
