Urgent Help Needed For Sheik Kamara

After staying in Brandon for a few months he was once again transferred to yet another institution called Headingley Corrections (in Headingley, Manitoba). Since he was considered a high risk offender he remained in segregation for 9 months which was extremely hard for him and us his family. We hardly had any contact for all that time and there were no visits. He is presently still in Headingley awaiting immigration court and trial for two pending drug charges.
He was already convicted for assault with a weapon. These months have been very hard on him because he is facing threats of deportation back to his home country, Sierra Leone where he fled as a refugee. I am desperately trying anything I can possibly do to help but I dont have the money for an immigration lawyer which is very expensive as one might imagine. On the 30th he will represent himself in immigration video court.
We intend on getting married upon his release but since they are threatening to deport him we want to make it official now, but since he is not in a federal institution we cant do it. The charges he is pending right now are two drug charges (possession for the purpose of trafficking).
I can honestly say that since being incarcerated Sheik has changed himself completely he realizes the harms he has caused and wishes that he could take it all back, unfortunately he cant.
When he came to Canada he had huge dreams of getting an education, because in his country that was impossible due to the civil war. In the first week of Canadian schooling this all changed when he was approached by a group of boys who took him on a shopping spree and got him mixed in the wrong crowd. As the years went by he fell deeper and deeper into the street, not realizing the consequences of his actions, that have now resulted him in being incarcerated.
When I speak to Sheik on the phone he tells me all of the things he wants to accomplish when he is released such as finishing his education, starting a family, his all time dream is to own a restaurant and be the head chef. He prays for a chance to turn his future into the past that he has neglected. The one thing that stands in the way is deportation. This is his mothers worst nightmare, sending her son back to a war zone where he is almost guaranteed to be killed. Sheik is not a citizen of Canada so he does not have the same rights as the other offenders and all we are counting on is prayers and the trust in God. We ask for your prayers and thoughts also.
There isnt much time left until he is up infront of the immigration video court for deportation so, Please help us by signing this petition, we need youre help to keep Sheik here in Canada with his mother, fiance and loved ones.
