WANTED: Perth Street Race

The V8 Supercar Championship is the most prestigious form of motorsport in Australia and is slowly becoming a force world wide. The creation of a street race in Perth would replace the existing Barbagallo Raceway round of the championship. The street race will cause an expected annual return to the state of around $35 million. V8 Supercar races in 2006 attracted 1.74 million people to circuits around Australia and the series was watched by eight million on TV. Pay-TV subscribers in 110 countries added 800 million more viewers. The only way this event could become reality is with approval of the Government. The V8 teams and drivers are behind the event and it is now your chance to make a difference. This petition will be passed onto the state government, and we need your help. Please take a moment of your time to sign the petition as we aim to create a Perth Street Race for 2008 and beyond.

Having a dedicated Perth V8SC Street Race will bring us into the same scope as the other major street races, which bring millions of dollars into their respective states over the space of a few day. Plus it gives time and funds for the Barbagello Raceway
