I demand a memorial of Balasaheb Thackeray at Shivaji Park

BALASAHEB THACKERAY (1926-2012)

I am a citizen and resident of Maharashtra, demand that a memorial be built in honor of our saheb, at Shivaji Park near statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of our great leader and this is an attempt to pay tribute to him.  I, demand as a mark of respect, build a memorial of Balasaheb Thackeray at Shivaji Park, where he was publicly cremated.”

Maha Govt and BMC should allow his memorial at Shivaji Park - just because entire world saw the outpouring of the "sea of humanity" at his funeral. Also, regarding the NGO stating that this would set a precedent, I have to state that the display of numbers, emotion, grief and respect at his funeral is also without precedent - hence it justifies the exception requested in this case and there is nothing wrong in allowing a memorial at Shivaji Park, the very place where he formed the party, held his rallies and which was ultimately his cremation site. Nothing elaborate, but a simple memorial that can be remembered.

Its every shivsainiks, maharashtrians responsibility to force a govt to build a memorial of our great  leader.

The sprawling ground already has a memorial dedicated to our Janata Raja king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. So "I want our inspirations memorial to be built here (Shivaji Park). every shivsainik want this memorial next to Chhattrapati Shivaji's maharaj memorial.

As everyone knows, Saheb and  Shivaji Park has long 46 years relationship.

Every marathi knows the contribution of his saheb on every social issues of life. He was a tiger. Ek Tha Tiger and that was our Saheb,, Balasaheb.....

There will never be another Balasaheb Thackeray in Indian and maharashtra politics - the man who made the difference in the high profile politics of Maharashtra. Balasaheb Thackeray deserves a memorial irrespective of political affiliations.

Also we demand the holiday in Maharashtra on his birth day. We and our coming generations have to worship our leaders.

Bala Saheb was an eminent personality of the Maharashtra. He was very different kind of man believe in the true nationalism. He did remarkable job both in the public and in the political life. His memorial must be built in memory of the great leader, the 'God father of the Maharashtrians people' The unity among Marathi people is because of Bala Saheb.

We the undersigned appeal to the CM of Maharashtra, Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, and Mayor of Mumbai,  to support  the desire of 2 million people of India to build a memorial of our great leader Balasaheb Thackeray at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
