Since 1972, the American Indian Council has assisted Indigenous American Indian peoples with much needed educational, employment, and training services in urban areas within the states of Iowa and Missouri.
The American Indian Council is a non-profit corporation located in North Kansas City, Missouri, with branch offices located in Sioux City, Des Moines, and Marshalltown in Iowa and Springfield, Kansas City, and St. Louis in Missouri.
The American Indian Council is a distributor of federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds, which are designated to help low-income Indigenous Peoples with their educational, employment, and training needs within urban areas. A primary focus of the American Indian Council is to assist clients with books, tuition, and other funding needs as they attend college in order to attain a degree so as to better compete in today's tough job market.
The American Indian Council strives to improve the quality of life for Indigenous peoples in off-reservation communities. We support the endeavors of their fine organization and believe that the American Indian Council is the best agency to continue to provide education, employment and training services to Indigenous Peoples in the urban centers of the midwest.
