We Want Pro Football!

We, the fans of the New Orleans Saints, are known as one of the most loyal and most forgiving fan bases in the world of sports. We have seen it all in our 46-year love affair with this team. After our city was almost destroyed following Hurricane Katrina, our fanaticism for the Black & Gold held us together and helped us get through one of the worst disasters in the history of our great nation. We've journeyed to the pinnacle of the football mountain when the Saints won the Super Bowl in 2010, and hope to do so again.

But now, our very love for this team and this game is being held hostage in a squabble over money. Many of us feel rejected and hurt by the current situation. Yes, we know pro football is a business. Indeed, thousands of local families, who scrimp and save all year to hang on to those prized season tickets, feel that reality in their wallets each year. And, many businesses large and small in Greater New Orleans and the Gulf South count on the Saints and the NFL to earn a living and make a payroll.

As the fight over money grinds on, you appear to have missed one key fact: Fans First! Football is not your game. Football belongs to everyone. As fans, we ask you to be here for us as weve been there for you for decades. We have so proudly put in our time, dedication and money into helping the NFL become one of the most popular and powerful business in the world. Each year, NFL fans have shattered TV ratings records. We have made your business an outstanding success during a period of very difficult financial times for most other companies. We have also launched players into star status and made them marketing giants too.

So from this day forth, our loyal and humble respect for how much we want NFL football will be displayed all over the world. We, the fans, will show our passion, honor and love for this game and this league by coming together and working together to get our football back. We can only ask that you do the same.
