West Virginia Flathead

The flathead is the 2nd largest fresh water fish in the U.S. next to blue catfish .The flathead catfish is a higly sought after fish all over the United States. As the number of catfisherman increases, I want to put a state wide creel limit, size limit and a possesion limit on the flathead catfish for the state of West Virginia. Trophy fish are very hard to come by and need to be protected. It takes years for a mature flathead to reach trophy size. Currently West Virginia is ranked 31st place out of all the states that have catfish records.I want this to be in the top 10. For myself and fellow catfishermen across West Virginia and others that will visit our beautiful state, lets make our waters a place to seek the trophy flathead.

West Virginia does not currently have a size or a creel limit for the flathead catfish. by signing this petition you herby state that you agree that the size limit should have a cap of 20# and anything that is caught bigger than 20# must be released,a daily limit of 1 and a possesion limit of 4.
