The Nigerians in the Diaspora and Lovers of Nigeria across the globe wish to express our supports for the appointment of Professor Bolaji Aluko as a pioneering VC of the newly created Federal University, Otuoke.
Professor Aluko must have achieved minimum academic qualifications before he could be elected as a Chairman of a university department in the United States of America, specifically at the Howard University. A chairman of any department in any univeristy is equally capable to function as a Vice Chancellor. Professor Aluko's talents and experience as an academia and administrator in the USA are very useful and are worthy of being utilized in Nigeria as rightly decided by those who appointed him as a VC.
We are concerned that some individuals have started engaging in campaign of calumny. We believe such campaign is baseless and unpatriotic. Professor Bolaji Aluko should not be blocked from serving Nigeria and Nigerians.
