Ethical Code

Our code of ethics

The operations of FreeCause are carried out in alignment with the values and principles outlined in our ethical code, which serves as an inspiration for every company representative, employee, and external partner.

Although newly established, by adhering to this code, we have grown to become the world’s leading platform for petition collection.

We are based in London, but through people, we want to change the world. Our mission is to give voice to causes that matter.

Our vision is to change the world—a goal we may not always achieve, but one that drives us forward. Our online signature collections have proven to be effective tools for amplifying voices and ensuring they are heard. Nothing matches the speed and reach of the internet in this regard.

With this Code of Ethics, the FreeCause network formally adopts the principles of legitimacy, integrity, transparency, and verifiability as its guiding standards. This code establishes the primary rules to be followed by representatives, employees, and external partners, all of whom are expected to carry out their duties with professionalism, diligence, and honesty. Their actions must align with the best interests of the company, its clients, and the broader community of users. Decision-making and all related activities are subject to these values and principles. The company carefully selects its partners based on their alignment with these values, whether they are individuals or organizations. Noncompliance with this code constitutes a breach of ethical obligations and an act of dishonesty toward the company.

FreeCause does not accept financial contributions from governments or associations. Our only source of financial support comes from advertisements displayed on our web pages. These advertisements are managed by reputable third-party partners, such as Google Inc., who align with our values. These are display advertisements only and do not share any user information—similar to commercials seen on television.

We will never share user data with external companies. Those who sign petitions provide their names to support causes they believe in, not to give us their personal data.

By following our Code of Ethics, we have established strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations, NGOs, and everyday citizens around the world. We are the starting point for nonviolent advocacy efforts.

Ethical Code

FreeCause operates in the field of online petition collection. Our business model is built on upholding high ethical values, such as full compliance with the law, respect for workers and their rights, and fair competition among industry peers. Remaining true to our founding principles, FreeCause is committed to honesty, transparency, discretion, security, and fair competition. This Code of Conduct serves as a benchmark for all individuals contributing to FreeCause, particularly those in leadership roles.

Principles:

Trust

FreeCause's success is rooted in mutual trust among all stakeholders who contribute daily to the company, including clients, employees, representatives, and partners. This trust is built upon a shared mission, adherence to our values, and strict compliance with this code. A lack of respect for these principles at any level is incompatible with FreeCause’s mission. Therefore, mutual respect is essential and fosters a culture of cooperation, characterized by professionalism, ethical behavior, and courteous interactions both within the company and externally.

Human Resources

Valuing our human resources, respecting their independence, and encouraging their participation in company decisions are core principles of FreeCause. We provide training and development programs to enhance professional skills and support employees in their career growth.

Honesty

FreeCause ensures that all members, employees, and partners understand the ethical implications of their actions and do not seek personal or corporate gain at the expense of legal compliance and ethical conduct. Employees and partners must never offer illicit benefits to clients or service providers. Furthermore, conflicts of interest must be avoided, ensuring that no individual benefits improperly from company dealings.

Transparency

FreeCause is committed to maintaining a clear, accurate, and comprehensive portrayal of its business operations. We provide complete and transparent information regarding the principles guiding our social mission.

Privacy

Due to the nature of our operations, FreeCause ensures that all employees and partners protect users' privacy. We safeguard personal information in compliance with applicable privacy laws and use collected data solely for the intended purpose of petition-related activities. Only authorized personnel have access to such information, and all processing activities are conducted securely. Employees, members, and company representatives strictly adhere to privacy laws and confidentiality standards.

Fairness

FreeCause requires all members, employees, and partners to act with fairness and integrity, avoiding opportunistic or discriminatory behavior. As an equal opportunity employer, FreeCause does not discriminate based on race, color, age, gender, disability, or any other characteristic.

Health and Safety in the Workplace

FreeCause ensures that all employees and partners comply with safety measures in line with technological advancements. We are committed to safeguarding the physical and moral well-being of our employees and fostering a safe work environment.
