25: Theodore Roosevelt For Half Dollar

Theodore Roosevelt was one of the greatest men to ever hold the office of President of the United States. He is the only President to have won both the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Congressional Medal of Honor. His legislative reforms at the dawn of the 20th Century, paved the way for America to take her rightful place as a world power, and gave us the stability and sensibility to survive as a Constitutional Republic.
There is no telling what the world would have been like, had not Theodore Roosevelt been President, and we are fortunate to live in a world where he did. As such, it is a great injustice to deny this great man his rightful place on American coinage. For far too long, he has gone without monetary tribute, and we implore you to change this.
It is also true that the once popular Half Dollar coin has fallen into disuse. Few people spend this denomination, despite the growing need for such a coin. With many small priced items now standing at 50 cents, it would not take much to popularize the Half Dollar as a coin to once again be spent and used as pocket change. Why carry 2 quarters, when you can carry 1 half? However, the current drab appearance of the half leaves it an undesirable coin, destined to elimination.
For these reasons stated above, we, the undersigned, ask that you seriously consider commissioning a redesign for the Half Dollar by executive order, with Theodore Roosevelt as the figure to appear on the obverse. Putting Theodore Roosevelt on the Half Dollar would both honor one of America's greatest Presidents, and bring back into use a nearly forgotten denomination.
Please, do not let Theodore Roosevelt, nor the half dollar of the United States, fade into darkness. Let them shine together!
