Conflict surrounding the Temple Mount is one of the two major issues that has continued to plague the peace process in Israel. The recent Intifida began when Ariel Sharon attempted to pay an official visit of state to the Har HaBayis. In spite of the toll, which that conflict cost Israel, many issues surrounding the Temple Mount remain unresolved. According to a book by a former Director of the Shin Bet, the various organizations involved in activities related to building the Third Temple are secretly hoping that an extremist group will succeed in blowng up the Dome of the Rock and that this act will precipitate a Jehad against Israel. As a result, the Shin Bet is forced to continually monitor the various groups interested in building the Third Temple, and the issue remains a festering wound and a smouldering fire beneath the surface of Israeli Politics. It is the intention of this Bill to clarify and resolve the conflicts surround the Temple Mount and to encourage the Knesset to take a proactive approach to resolving the conflicts pertaining to the Temple Mount, before they once more erupt into violence.

The 6 points of this bill are:

1. To hold committee hearings in the Knesset to determine the location of the first and second Temple, and the location of areas deemed to be "holy," according to Jewish Law.

2. To determine the current legal status of the ruling made by General Moshe Dyan, in 1967, to give the Muslim religious authorities control over daily activities on the Temple Mount.

3. To appoint a Board of Directors, consisting of at least one descendant of King David, and one Cohen, to run the Beit Hamikdash.

4. To remove structures in the area on the Temple Mount determined to be "holy," with the guidance of experts in antiquities, archeology, engineering and museum science. (It is our belief that the Al Aksa Mosque is
not in an area considered "holy," by Jewish religious experts; and therefore this bill will support the continued existence of the Al Aksa Mosque. The bill will likely ask that the Dome of the Rock be moved, by expert big building movers, to another part of the Temple Mount, outside of the areas deemed "holy" by Jewish religious experts.)

5. To provide funding for the building and running of the Third Temple entirely from private sources.

6. To build and run the Third Temple in accordance with rulings handed down by the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem.
