We the undersigned request that the film, television and theatre actress Dora Bryan is made a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Dora Bryan was born Dora Mary Broadbent on 7th February 1924 and is a household name with a whole list of films to her credit. She mainly played supporting roles and won a Bafta award for her performance in A Taste of Honey. She has also been a well known face on television over the years, playing a wide range of roles e.g. Mum in the sitcom On the Up, a regular in Last of the Summer Wine, not to mention a whole list of guest starring roles in numerous programmes.
Dora has already received an OBE but we feel it is time to make her a Dame.
