THE NEEDED/PROPOSED ADDENDUM/ADDITION IN THE AMERICAN DICTIONARY FOR THE DEFINITION OF BLACK

We at the NUAUA (National Urban Association for Unity and Awareness) believe that Websters Dictionary needs a change. For hundreds of years the color Black and/or word Black has been the label for people of African decent or with Negro ancestry. The current general definition of Black is negative. We would like a more positive definition regarding Black People to follow the current one listed below:

dirty, soiled
: characterized by the absence of light b : reflecting or transmitting little or no light c : served without milk or cream
: thoroughly sinister or evil : wicked b : indicative of condemnation or discredit

Black: evil or wicked, soiled or stained, gloomy or dismal, sullen or hostile, indicating disgrace, the color opposite to white. He wore black at the funeral.
Black-ball: to vote against, to slander for malicious purposes, to ostracize, a negative vote, to not allow opportunity.
Black-death: a bubonic plague in Europe in the 14th century.
Black-listed: a list of persons or organizations under suspicion, disfavor. To be put on a negative and bad list.
Black-magic sorcery or demonic magic.
Black-mail: any payment extorted by intimidation as by treats, bodily harm or revelation.
Black-mark: a detrimental or negative fact in ones record that could hinder further opportunity.
Black-market: a market of illicit buying and selling in violation of controls or law.
Black-mass: a blasphemous ceremony mocking the Christian Mass esp. one by an alleged worshiper of the devil.
Black-sheep: a person considered embarrassingly disreputable by his or her family or group.

(THE NEEDED/PROPOSED ADDITION IN THE AMERICAN and/or WEBSTER DICTIONARY)

The Addendum and or Addition to the definition of BLACK in the American and/or Webster Dictionary should be:

Black is otherwise known as a powerful beautiful color. When all colors are mixed together, they make black. Black is the dominant color. Also, when the color black is connected to human beings through race labeling it loses its general negative connotation and or generally negative definition. When referring to a Black person you are referring to a human being that is not dirty, sullen, evil or wicked etc. When referring to an African and or person of African decent or Negro ancestry the label is just that, a label that does not carry anything negative with it.

PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION SO THAT WE CAN GET WEBSTER DICTIONARY TO AD THIS POSITVE DEFINITION TO THE CURRENT ONE. Thank You.
