For those who don't know 2 months ago Cadet David Badger died from cardiac arrest. He died because his school didn't have an AED, an automatic external defibrillator.
For every minute spent in cardiac arrest your chances of survival are decreased by 10\%. After 10 minutes few attepmts of rescusitation are successful. It takes, on average in ideal conditions, 6 minutes for paramedics to arrive.
AED's cost approx. $3,000.00 each, even less. Most schools in the US already have AED's in school's, but not many in Canada do.
The chances of a student going into cardiac arrest are slim, but there are also teachers who are at higher risk.
I am holding a campaign to have AED's in our schools. If you could please sign this online petition in support of schools having AED's that would be greatly appreciated.

I can't believe you don't have these already. These are essential in any public areas, not just schools. Please consider the cost of the lives you will lose if this policy is not implemented.
